What is Granite
As subterranean molten rock feeding volcanic mountain ranges above cools and crystallizes, granite is born. This rock consists of many light felsic minerals such as quartz (clear), plagioclase (milky white), and potassium feldspar (pink) which grow larger crystals the longer they have to cool. Granite comes from very evolved magmas that fed highly eruptive and violent volcanoes. Found all over this beautiful orb in space (as well as others), notable locations are Yosemite, the Sierra Nevada mountains, Joshua Tree, Brazil, Finland, South Africa, India, China, and Sedona Moonstone wraps.
